Beyond the Switch: Our Journey to Peak System Reliability

A Brighter Tomorrow: Commitment to Seamless and Reliable Electricity for All

In 2023, customers experienced an increase in power outages, with an average of 14.53 disruptions compared to 7.55 in the previous year. While these outages were primarily due to unplanned equipment failures, we see these challenges as opportunities for growth. We are committed to enhancing service reliability and have launched our Grid Evolution Plan to transform the grid. This plan includes upgrading supply capacity to key areas, such as tourist destinations and major metropolitan areas through new transmission line interconnections and substation upgrades, introducing system redundancies, and transitioning to a more advanced, intelligent grid with enhanced monitoring, automation, and expedited restoration processes. The new grid will significantly enhance our ability to deliver electricity reliably and efficiently, minimizing disruptions to our Customers' lives.

Moreover, we are committed to adopting new approaches to the maintenance of our systems by expanding on live line work on distribution lines and introducing a condition-based maintenance strategy for substations. These approaches focus on reducing planned outages necessary for maintenance activities, further contributing to the goal of minimizing customer inconvenience. Through these initiatives and ongoing generation projects, we are confident in our ability to significantly reduce the frequency and duration of power outages.

Our vision is to reduce the frequency and duration of outages significantly, aiming for fewer than four outages per year by 2028, with total duration not exceeding four hours. This ambitious goal reflects our dedication to providing seamless and reliable electricity to all.
